This is a report on the practice of English–Chinese translation. The author chooses two texts about ecommerce from Smashwords and makes detailed analysis of the topic and linguistic features of the texts. After searching several related texts on the internet, the author is aware of the background knowledge of ecommerce and the relevant strategies in translating business texts. Then, guided by Nida's equivalence theory, the author attempts to overcome three major difficulties in translation process, namely, the translation of pronouns, complicated sentences and the sentences with passive voice.By comparing the initial versions and revised versions in dealing with these difficulties in translation, the author summarizes some strategies: in the translation of pronouns, translators need to know what exactly pronouns refer to and decide whether to use amplification or omission;when dealing with the voice, translators need to be flexible and adopt conversion;and in the translation of complex sentences, separation is the main method in analyzing sentences and translators can adopt combination and recombination in translating.
