The Study On The Relationship Between Xu Youzhen And The Wumen Calligraphy

Xu Youzhen has a pivotal position in the Wumen area at that time,as result of being the pioneer of the “Wu Men” Calligraphy of the Mid-Ming Dynasty.Xu Youzhen has set up a new trend of learning the calligraphy of the Song Dynasty,so he is regarded as the precursor of the Wumen’s calligrapher.On the basis of the ancient literature,the article strives to give a more objective evaluation of Xu Youzhen’s calligraphy and its role in the development of Wumen’s calligraphy by researching the relationship of between the calligraphy of Xu Youzhen and the calligraphy of Wumen.First,this thesis analyzes the historical environment where Xu Youzhen lived,mainly by the change of the politics and economy,and scholars’ psychology so that we can study the cause of developing about the calligraphy of Wumen and its inevitability;Second,the essay explores the thought,origin and works of the calligraphy,and evaluate the Xu Youzhen’s calligraphy objectively and the relation between Xu Youzhen and the important members of the calligraphy of Wumen.There is a further study on the relationship between Xu Youzhen and the important members of the calligraphy of Wumen mainly from relationship by marriage,friends as well as teachers and students.Finally,the essay gives a summary of Xu Youzhen’s positive effect on the prosperity and development of the Wumen Calligraphy.
