A Report On C-E Translation Of Tour Commentary Of Mudanjiang Urban Scenic Spots

The thesis aims to translate the Tour Commentary of Mudanjiang Urban Scenic Spots.As excerpts of Tour Commentary of Mudanjiang Scenic Spots,it mainly introduces some special urban scenic spots in Mudanjiang city.Mudanjiang city is rich in tourism resources,and the number of foreign tourists is steadily increasing,which promotes the local economic development in recent years.Translating the Chinese into English would help the foreign tourists to understand the scenic spots of Mudanjiang.So this translation task is significant but with some challenges.In the process of translation,the translator encountered the translation difficulties of culture-loaded words and language style.With the help of the tutor,the translator applied free translation,omission,translation with annotation and insert sentences,etc,strategies and techniques,and tried to give her own target text.There is a great diversity between China and the West in cultural connotation,economic structure and geographic environment,which cause the difference in language system and expressing style.The difference reflects in sentence order,language structure,rhetoric and the choices of words between English and Chinese.The tour commentary as a bridge to communicate culture,and it contains unique language and cultural factors.The differences demonstrate more clearly between the source text and translated text.In the translation report,the translator makes a brief introduction for the source text and does a detailed case analysis based on which the translator provided her own translation version about the culture-loaded words and language factors.
