A Report On The Translation Of Extracts Of Annual Report On Cultural Development Of Henan

The source text is chosen from the two extracts of the Annual Report on Cultural Development of Henan(2015).The two extracts are “Explo ring Literal Resources in Anyang,Creating Chinese Character Capita l” and “Sm all Needles Created Great Fortune”--The Analysis of Current Situ ation and Prospect for the Em broidery Industry of Anyang ”.The writers are Guo Shuwei and Research Group of of Central Plain Culture Institute separately.The translation report consists of four parts: task description,translation procedures,case analysis and s ummary.Task description includes the sou rce material,the introduction of the author and the thesis.Translation procedures consist of pre-translation preparation,the dif ficulties of translation and text check,polishing and finalization.During the tr anslation,the combination of “literal translation” and “free translation” is adopted,and some translation techniques and different kinds of translation tools are used as well,for example,dictionaries.Case study is the core of the report which describes th e ideas and skills of tran slation.In this part,the translation process and translation skills are analyzed from the aspects of vocabulary,and syntax.Feelings and experiences are at the end of the report.
