This reflective research report is based on the author's E-C translation of MSA Safety 2015 Annual Report.MSA was headquartered in Pennsylvania in 1914,it is committed to manufacture safety and gas detection equipment by most innovative technologies.In this translation practice,the author chose two parts from the source text: Business Overview and Results of Operations.This report focuses on the methods and techniques of terminology and long sentences in the E-C translation of annual report.According to the difficulties in the translation process,the author used literal translation,combination,inversion and other translation methods to solve specific problems.In addition,Chinese and English are different not only in language,but also in thinking,cognition,culture and values.These differences are usually expressed in terms of vocabulary,semantics,grammar and discourse to make language conversion difficult.On the basis of grasping English expressions,the author should correctly translate the text in accordance with Chinese expressions.This report has a strong practical significance and reference value in the topic selection,which has an important guiding effect on the author's future translation practice.Through the discussion and summary of the source text,the author would like to provide a reference for the translators of annual reports and the translations of relevant materials.
