This report is based on the former part of UNWTO Annual Report 2015 and explores the real problems encountered in the translation.The Annual Report describes the development of tourism around the world and various problems can be solved by developing tourism.It is mainly related to the number of tourists,tourism competitiveness,advancing tourism?s contribution to poverty reduction and sustainable tourism etc.The UNWTO is the most authoritative and representative tourism organization in the world,and its annual report data and information signify the development direction of the whole tourism industry.Its annual report is valued by many tourism developers and has a guiding significance to the development of tourism in China.This report selects some chapters of UNWTO Annual Report 2015 for translation,and lists some of the difficulties such as the name of organizations,projects,activities as well as long and difficult sentences encountered in the translation.The name of organizations,projects are solved by searching the relevant background knowledge and information.The inversion method,sentence-splitting method and comprehensive translation method are used to solve the difficult sentences.The report also explores translation methods of dash and the corresponding case analyses are given.
