A Report On The Translation Of Report On Henan Culture Development(2016)

With the rapid development of China's economy,the improvement of international status as well as the deepening of China's foreign exchanges,Chinese culture has played an increasingly important role in World culture.As one of its representative culture,Henan culture has also been paid more and more attention.The English version of the Report on Culture Development will not only promote foreign publicity,but also provide other countries with a kind of media to know more about China.Therefore,the translation quality will directly affect China's international status,economy,image and foreign exchanges,etc.The source text of this translation practice is excerpted from the book Report on Henan Culture Development,which mainly introduces the development of Taijiquan and ceramic culture,the existing problems in growth,and some suggestions.Under the guidance of “Adaptation Theory” and based on this translation practice,the author of the report analyzes the translation of the source text from three aspects of vocabulary,syntax and text,and provides some corresponding translation strategies and skills.The translation report indicates that it is of great significance to conduct this translation practice of culture-related texts,which will improve the quality of Chinese-English translation of culture-related texts and make contribution to the publicity of Henan culture in western countries.
