Floating children, who leave their former familiar living environment from an early age, move into an unfamiliar city, and experience numerous various incidents, will undoubtedly generate a sense of loneliness. We intend to explore the relationship between living incidents and sense of loneliness, and the existence of mental elastricity involved in the two for adjustive effects, which may provide some theoretical reference for psychological health education for those floating children. We adopted the questionaire method in our research, selecting 500 students from Grade 7 and Grade 8 in three public schools in Changsha as research objects. We mainly analysized the differences of living incidents, mental elastricity and sense of loneliness between the floating children and non-floating children, putting greater emphasis on studying adjustive effects of mental elastricity floating children had for adjusting to their daily incidents. The research results are as following1.Floating children face more study pressure compared with those non-floating children.2.Floating children from Grade 7 face more health adaptation problems in comparison with those from Grade 8,whereas the former tend to have better concentration.Studies for emotional controlling factors show that floating children with one to three years of floating experience tend to do a better job in controlling their emotions than those with less than a year or over three years’ time.Considering the interpersonal assistence factors, floating children with one to three years’ living experiences get dramatically higher grades than those stayed for less than a year.3.As for the floating children, there is a significant negative corelation between living incidents and mental elastricity, and a negative corelation between mental elastricity and sense of loneliness,as well as a positive corelation between living incidents and sense of loneliness.4.For the floating children, mental elastricity palys a partly intermediary role in the relationship between living incidents and sense of loneliness.
