A Report On Interpreting For SSI.Ltd.'s Field Study To Wanlong Ski Resort

The report is based on a consecutive interpreting task between Australia SSI.Ltd.and Wanlong Ski Resort.As a practice report,this thesis is to analyze the translation of Steve Kenny's speech,who is the founder and CEO of SSI.Ltd..The thesis is to discuss the importance of pre-interpretation preparation,translation strategy during interpretation,and to make a summary for this interpreting task.This thesis contains four parts.The first part introduces briefly background of SSI.Ltd.and Wanlong Ski Resort.The second part consists of pre-interpretation preparation,which is divided into three stages,task procedure and evaluation of task.With the basis of outline of speech,this chapter introduces specifically how the author prepares for the task,including the familiarity of the history of skiing,speaker's character,the preparation of terminologies and proper nouns.The third chapter is the key part that analyzes what problems are and how to deal with them during interpreting,based on Interpretive Theory of Translation.The last part is to summarize the whole interpretation practice,and the author puts forward improvements and prospects in future study.
