The Research On The English Explanation And Translation In Elementary TCSL Text Books

With the rising of "Chinese fever",more and more foreign students are coming to China to study Chinese language and culture.For the elementary-level foreign students,the media language is an important tool to communicate with their teachers and classmates.The English translation and explanation in Chinese textbooks also belong to the media language.Aiming at the problem of English translation and explanation in Chinese textbooks,this paper took Chinese Course and New Practical Chinese Reader for example,analyzed some English translation and explanation problems,and provided some reasonable advice.I hope this paper can make a little contribution to the teaching and textbook writing work in future.This thesis mainly analyzed the English interpretation problems form new words,grammar and culture in Chinese Course and New Practical Chinese Reader.It focused on the study of the translation of new words.The introduction told us the main reason of choosing this topic,the significance of the study,the research status and the research methods.Chapter one combined with Chinese Course and New Practical Chinese Reader,introduced the methods of translation and explanation of new worlds in elementary TCSL textbooks,analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of these textbooks.The second chapter analyzed the English translation and explanation of grammar part in these textbooks.The third chapter studied the cultural interpretation and explanation in these textbooks.The fourth chapter made some suggestions based on the problems in this study.The last part summed up the whole paper and pointed out deficiencies in this thesis.
