An Interpreting Report On The UK Education Expo Of Academicasia Co.Ltd.

This is a practice report based on interpreting for Academicasia Co.Ltd British school exhibitions.The form of interpreting task is liaison interpretation,including escort interpreting and consecutive interpreting.This report mainly analyzes the interpretation of the dialogues between the British principals and the Chinese students or parents,as well as the interpretation of lectures delivered by British principals and parents.The case analysis is carried out according to the interpretive theory.At last,the author makes conclusions and suggestions.The report contains four parts.The first chapter is the description of interpreting task,including the task background and client's requirements.The second chapter describes the translation process,including the precautions,translation problems and proofreading.The author introduces the preparation work before the exhibition,such as the background preparation and agenda preparation or issues arrangement.In the third chapter,the author summarizes the problems that arose during the interpreting practice and uses interpreting skills or strategies to solve these problems based on interpreting cases.The fourth chapter summarizes the experience gained in interpreting practice and useful interpreting strategies.It is expected that this thesis can provide some advice to interpreters and help them improve their professional quality and translation competence.
