The original text of this translation report is the Chapter One of Feminism in Popular Culture by Joanne Hollows and Rachel Moseley. The book was published by Berg Publishers in 2006,and there is yet no Chinese version for the book. The book(Chapter One)gives a brief description of the whole book, introducing a series of terms such as feminism, popular culture, the second-wave feminism and post-feminism,which tries to interpret feminism, popular culture and their relationship through some films,TV shows and many authors' works. The translation report is mainly made up of four parts. The first part is a brief introduction to the translation material, the author and the works;the second part is an overall description of the translation process, including preparations for translation, difficulties in the process of translation, and the improvement, polishment and final draft;the third part is the detailed analysis of the translation cases, selected from the translation text at four levels: lexical terms, syntax, discourse and culture;the last part is the summary of the translation practice in terms of retrospect and experience about this translation practice,in the hope of guiding the future translation.
