This paper is a report of the author's English-to-Chinese translation practice. The translation material is an excerpt of Language and Culture: Contexts in Translating written by Eugene Nida, which consists of Chapter 6 and Chapter 7 of Part Two and Appendix 1.The aim of writing this report is to describe the translation process, analyze the problems in translation, suggest solutions and provide some future reference to its readers. The report begins with the background of the translation practice and the description of the translation process, and follows the introduction of the guiding translation strategy and methods. With the guidance of the Eco-translatology,the author analyzes the translational eco-environment of the source and target texts, and determines the degree of adaptation and selection in different parts of the text, hopefully to provide some fresh insights to the readers in solving translation problems.By applying various eco-translation methods, including transplanting at multi-dimensional levels, emptying translator's mind, making up for certain elements, leaning on source-text/target-text ecology, intervening in text production, etc.,the author tried her best to achieve the multi-dimensional balance and harmony between the source-text and the target-text ecologies. The author listed the examples in the Case Study according to the specific translation methods being used.Through careful analysis, the author finds that the translation methods of Eco-translatology such as emptying the translator's mind and intervening in text production do help to provide some new insights in solving translation problems;besides, the methods of leaning on the source-text ecology and leaning on the target-text ecology are not contradictory but complementary. The author also believes that the ecologicalizing method can not only be applied to imitating the shape of the natural ecology, but also to imitating the format or structure of the translational ecology.
