This is a translation project report on the sixth and fifth chapters of The Culture Map: Breaking Through the Invisible Boundaries of Global Business of(How Much Respect Do You Want?)(Big D or Little d: Who decides,and How?).The original text has eight chapters in which the first one introduced the existence of cultural differences and the rest explains the symptom of cultural differences,as well as the basic methods.Under the guidance of the Skopos theory,this report will take translation techniques such as conversion,sequence,inversion,division to accomplish the Skopos of the original text.The translation report is made up of four chapters.The first chapter introduces the translation task by stating its background and significance.The second chapter focuses on the Skopos theory,the theoretical basis of the report,then the source text will be studied through its functional,stylistic,and syntactic features that lead to the translation tactics and the application of Skopos theory in translation process.The third chapter predicts translation difficulties;demonstrates how the communicative translation tactic is employed in syntactic level to overcome difficulties in order to fully pass the information to readers and achieve the aim of guiding the readers of targeted text in cross cultural communication.The last chapter makes a summary and concludes experience to be learned.
