This is a translation project report.The source text is Part 1 from A Greener Path to Competitiveness: Policies for Climate Actions in Industries and Products issued by the World Bank Group at its official website.The source text was written by six co-writers.The translated version mainly discusses the challenges and opportunities for enterprises in finding a way to improve competitiveness,emphasizing the crucial role of the technologies in reducing GHG emissions and enhancing the competitiveness of enterprises,and analyze the resources and capital conditions for implementing these technologies under the current policy scenarios.The main contents of this report are divided into four parts.First,the report describes the translation project,including project background,preparation,objectives,significance and the project structure.Second,the report introduces the background of the source text,including the main contents and analysis of it.The source text is an informative and scientific text on environmental protection and industrial development,which aims to explore the role of technologies and policies in reducing GHG emissions and strengthening the competitiveness of countries and enterprises.Third,the translation theory,methods and difficulties,such as translation of words of multiple meanings,ambiguous expressions and sentences of complicated logic relations are discussed.Under the guidance of the logic translation theory,the translator adopts several translation methods including amplification,sequential-reversing translation,domestication and conversion.Besides,during the translation process,the translator makes logical analysis and judgment.Fourth,the report concludes with the lessons and unsolved problems in the translation project.
