Drawing on Prof.Hu Gengshen's Eco-translatology and guided by Darwin's"adaptation/selection" theory, this thesis analyzes a translator's adaptation to the translational eco-environment and the due selection. The Eco-translatology emphasizes on the interaction between translator and translational eco-environment,and gives an explanation on the nature, process, standards, principles and methodology of translation.Through a research on the features of documentary subtitle translation and the case study of the translated subtitle version of A Bite of China, the thesis discusses the degree of the three-dimensional transformations of the translated version in the case, and analyzes how did the translator balance the constrains of documentary subtitle translation from the perspective of the three-dimensional transformations. The thesis comes to a conclusion that a translator should be actively adapt themselves to the translational eco-environment and make an adaptive selection balancing the constrains of documentary subtitle translation,so that the translated version can be of a high degree of adaptation and selection. |
