Report On The Translation Of Political Essays Concerning One Belt & One Road From Foreign Media

With the development of “One Belt & One Road” initiative,the economic and trade cooperation between China and countries along the road is expanding and this phenomenon has attracted the attention of foreign media.This thesis is a report of the translation of political essays from twenty foreign online media,such as Out-Law,Review Seeker and Diplomat in the U.S.,Yahoo! Singapore in Singapore,The Hindu and Express India in India and many other foreign media.This thesis mainly introduces problems in the translation of political essays concerning“One Belt & One Road” and translation methods used to solve these problems.The translation methods include literal translation and free translation for tile translation,translation of proper nouns and abbreviations,and amplification,conversion,division and reorganization for sentence translation.This translation practice will help author gain translation experience in political essays and overcome shortcomings,so as to inspire the author in other translation works.
