Background: In recent years,college students' social anxiety has become a hot topic in psychology and sociology.It has been shown that cognitive behavioral therapy can effectively alleviate college students' social anxiety.Acceptance and Commitment Therapy(ACT)is one of the most representative therapies in Cognitive Behavior,which advocated the use of flexible treatments to reduce individual empirical avoidance,anxiety,depression.Thus wen can live a meaningful and valuable life.Objective: To explore the current situation of college students' social anxiety,empirical avoidance and the relationship between them.Taking the pathologic model and treatment model of ACT,to examied the effect of ACT in social anxiety of college students.Methods: Nanchang University students were selected,and stratified random sampling was used to send 510 questionnaires to carry out investigation and study.Subsequently,24 male college students were randomly divided into intervention group and control group.The study group was divided into intervention group and control group.Group counseling was conducted in the intervention group,and the control group was observed in nature.Using the same questionnaires of baseline survey,the students were tested as pretest,after intervention and two months later.Results:(1)Compared with the college students' norm,the social anxiety level of college students in this study was higher(p <0.001).(2)There was a significant positive correlation between TA,SIS,SIC,SAT with empirical avoidance(R = 0.35,p <0.01;r = 0.39,p <0.01;r(r = 0.39,r = 0.39,p<0.01)= 0.20,p <0.01;r = 0.40,p <0.01);Empirical avoidance behavior has a predictive effect on social anxiety,and the total variance of social anxiety can be predicted to be 16%.(3)Using repeated measures analysis of variance,the result shows that:In the TA,SAI dimensions,the treatment effect was significant(F = 4.617,p <0.05;F =4.467,p <0.05).In the TA,SAI,AAQ dimensions,the time between the two groups was significant(F = 5.18,p <0.05;F = 18.848,p <0.001;F = 12.371,p <0.001).In the TA,SAI,AAQ dimensions,two groups of interactions were significant(F = 6.290,p <0.01;F = 16.513,p <0.001;F = 12.237,p <0.001).Conclusion: The empirical avoidance behavior can predict the level of social anxiety in the individual.ACT can reduce the empirical avoidance behavior and reduce the anxiety level of social anxiety college students.
