This is a problem needed to be solved urgently.This paper,taking Nanchang Wanshou Palace Historical and Cultural block as an example,through the specific studies of Wanshou Palace,will elaborate an approach to refresh and renew the ancient Wanshou Palace in the modern urban life,through the modern cultural tourism development.Wanshou Palace Historical and Cultural block,located in the southwest of Nanchang and adjacent to the commercial center of Zhongshan Road,is one of the completely preserved historical and cultural districts in the city.With the scientific protection and development of this block,it can effectively promote the tourism economy of the city with the theme of history and culture,and is also significant for the improvement of the living environment and the upgrade of urban development.The new "core growth pole" will make contribution for West Lake District to realize its successful transition and promote the status.On the basis of defining the historical and cultural blocks and its related theories,this paper analyzes in depth the basic characteristics,principles and conditions of the development and protection of the tourism resources in other domestic historical and cultural blocks,and explore comprehensively the current situations of the development and protection of Wanshou Palace and some outstanding problems existed.After learning from the successful experience of other similar domestic and abroad blocks,the paper also puts forward some ideas in the optimization of the development and management models,the design of distinctive theme image,the development of special tourism products,the promotion of traditional diets,the improvement of the supporting infrastructure,the innovation of fund operation model,etc,so as to promote Wanshou Palace to a historical block that integrates cultural,commercial and social functions,to further develop the link between ancient culture and modern civilization.
