This is a translation report mainly on the English-Chinese translation of Chapter 3 of Relationships Among the Brain, the Digestive System, and Eating Behavior: Workshop Summary. It is mainly divided into four parts: description of the translation task, the brief introduction to the translation theory and the translation of medical English texts, the problems and solutions in the translation practice, and conclusion. The first part includes a brief introduction to the background and text of the translation task. Besides, this part contains the selection criteria of translation material, the preparation of translation tools and references,as well as translation schedules. The second part introduces the translating theory supporting the practice—Newmark's communicative translation theory, and talks about the relationships between the theory and the translation for medical English texts. Taking the English-Chinese translation of Chapter 3 of Relationships Among the Brain, the Digestive System, and Eating Behavior: Workshop Summary as an example, the author not only studies the problems and difficult points, but she also puts forward and analyzes specific translation methods and skills in the practice in the third part. Finally, the author makes a summary of the translation practice.
