On Financial News E-C Translation Methods From The Perspective Of Readers' Response Theory

China has been a major power in the world with Reform and Open-up proceeding.As a result,China has earned more and more attention from the world.One of the main accesses to learn the latest economic and financial development of China is financial news.BBC,as one of western mainstream media,makes a lot of reports on Chinese economy and finance.It is important and necessary for China to know what exactly it reports and how other countries look upon China.However,native Chinese readers have difficulties in reading original BBC news and corresponding domestic Chinese reports are few.Hence,there will be practical significance for the news translation.As readers,they hope to have a direct understanding of China in the western eyes.Only in this way can they know what others exactly perceive and view about China,which helps China to develop a better communication with the world.When it comes to the translation of financial reports,people often think that it only needs to faithfully delivery the SL message and literal translation is a good choice to handle with.In fact that is not the case.No matter what type the news is,it is always structured to serve the public.A piece of good news is often the unity of true content and perfect language expression.For the translators of financial reports,it is also necessary to work in the language and expression to strive to achieve a more readable and interesting translated version.In essence,it requires translators to regard readers as the center during translation process.On this,readers' response theory is a perfect interpretation of the importance of readers' central position,emphasizing that readers are indispensable during the realization of the meaning of the text and information equivalence for SL and TL readers is of vital importance.This thesis is exactly from this perspective and focuses on two aspects to ensure a high quality of translated version,namely Chinese language characteristics and financial news style.It manages to summarize some translation methods so as to achieve translated financial news with better Chinese style to a maximum extent.In this thesis,it explores how to make the translation close to TL readers' appreciation from the perspective of Readers' response theory and summarizes some translation methods for financial news translation with methods of documentary research,qualitative analysis and case analysis.This thesis covers six parts.The first part is an introduction to the whole thesis,including the background information,purpose and significance of this research,issues to be solved,methods used in this research as well as the whole structure of this thesis.The second part is literature review,mainly about the current researches of Readers' respond theory and translation as well as existing studies of financial news translation.The third part comes to Readers' response theory,mainly about its emergence and development,the guiding principles and meanings for financial news translation studies.The fourth part focuses on difficulties of financial news translation through combining language and text characteristics.The fifth part analyzes and summarizes translation methods of financial news translation from headlines,vocabulary and sentences with specific cases.The last part draws a conclusion to the whole thesis,with an overall review and summary on the significance of this study and indicates that possible shortcomings and things needed to be improved for this study.
