Study On The Transformation Of Poetry Style Of Bazhi Dhuta

This article divided Bazhi Dhuta's lifelong poetic creation into the early,the middle and the late three phases.Bazhi Dhuta acknowledged Wang Xiangqi as his mentor in 1886,and the iconic event could be seen as the bound between his early and middle stage of poetic creation.In 1898,Bazhi Dhuta met Hu Zhixue who was the survivor of the Sino-Japanese War in Changsha,which touched him so deep that it even became the opportunity for Bazhi Dhuta's poetic style transferred into the late.The early creation of Bazhi Dhuta mainly display his leisure and congenial attitude towards life with easy language,delicate and secluded mood of literary work.All these constitute the leisure natural style of early phase.Bazhi Dhuta's middle style turned to fresh and classic.He created a great number of five-character poems in this period,which made use of literary quotation,delicate language and rich and harmonious tone.Poetry produced in this stage mainly expressed Bazhi Dhuta's mild emotions and ancient thoughts.In the late,poem creation of Bazhi Dhuta mainly existed as a channel to vent his sadness and loneliness.So he tended to express his feeling directly by unfamiliar words and creating the bleak and distress atmosphere.Hence,the poet's writing style changed to gloomy and misty.Throughout the changing progress of Bazhi Dhuta's poetic style,the formation and transformation of his style for different periods mainly determined by his personal experience and friendship,mentor-disciple relationship,current status and personal buddhism thoughts.
