With the development of China's reform and opening-up policy,China at one hand opens more fields to outside world, and at the other hand deepens the level of its openness.During these times not only did China carry out “going out” strategy, but also implemented “bringing in” strategy. In the year 1993,the Peace Corps set foot in China and began to activate in rural and underdeveloped areas of this country. This task is mainly an escort interpreting between two parties: one Peace Corps volunteer and Chongqing Three Gorges University. And as a report on this particular task,in this thesis, author starts from description of the task to post-interpreting analysis. In the first chapter, two things will be discussed.Firstly, full details of parties involved will be given. For instance, how the Peace Corps established, the purposes of the Corps, the function of the organization and introduction to Chongqing Three Gorges University by using information from their respective official pages.Secondly, aims of task which mainly concern about language and culture will be listed out.Preparations work will be listed in next chapter, including psychological preparation, glossarial familiarization, collection of theories and cultural information. The third chapter will be the main part of this paper. In this chapter process of task, theories involved and some real-life interpreting practices will be written out,and author will primarily use the effort models and interpretive theory of translation to study those listed practices. In the fourth chapter, author will chiefly represent summary of report, hence some unexpected factors influencing interpreting and enlightenment from the task will be written down in this chapter. In conclusion,by doing post-interpreting analysis, author will provide some skills to simplify interpreting notes and ensure interpreter's fluency. This finding has some reference value for teaching interpreting and may be of some help for students studying interpreting.
