In Teaching Chinese as a Second Language(TCSL),cultural teaching plays an increasingly important role,for example,Chinese calligraphy,painting,clothing,paper-cut,martial arts and so forth appeared frequently in TCSL,which enrich the teaching contents and enhance the cultural identification of Chinese culture for foreign students,and also promote the understanding for overseas students on traditional Chinese thinking mode and value orientation.Ceramic,as one representative symbol of China,has made great artistic achievement and vividly showed Chinese civilization history,and without no doubt,has great historical and cultural value,which is indispensable in TCSL.However,there have few studies been done on ceramic culture in TCSL,ceramic knowledge is seldom mentioned in TCSL classroom ceramics and related cultural activities are also rarely held.All these facts made foreign students have little knowledge on Chinese ceramics.Therefore,it is very necessary for us to conduct some researches on this important area of significance.Based on the recognition of the importance of Chinese ceramic culture,this paper intends to introduce the general situation,development history,typical modeling,cultural value of Chinese ceramics.Meanwhile,this paper also makes a detailed analysis of the method of applying Chinese ceramic culture into TCSL,and then designs the related teaching principle,objects,contents and pattern.On this basis,taking the Chinese Academy of Henan University as the research target and according the data of questionnaires filled by international students who participated in the Chinese ceramic culture theme salon,this paper points out the merits of this cultural activities and summarizes the experience for the more efficient and effective TCSL class in the future.In conclusion,this paper will provide a meaningful reference for the teaching of Chinese ceramic culture in TCSL and fill this research area's blank to some extent.
