Social withdrawal is a kind of emotion experience,which manifests as alone and not good at association with others and building relationships. They would be uncomfortable or depressive in their interacts with others and want to escape from the that circumstance.Social withdrawal is a common phenomenon in interpersonal communication, and junior students are not exception. Lots of researches show that friendship plays an integral role in the personal socialization, and we would not have a good growth and development without it. With studies on friendship quality of junior students who have social withdrawal, it is found that friendship quality and interpersonal efficacy are significantly related to social withdrawal. The paper is focus on junior students, and deals with the intermediary role of interpersonal efficacy between friendship quality and social withdrawal. The method of group counseling intervention is used in the paper.This paper includes two research:1. A random sampling method is used in the study. A survey of 637 junior students is conducted at a Wuhan middle school, and 509 questionnaires which include Questionnaire of Social Withdrawal,Questionnaire of Friendship Quality and AICSE are valid. The result shows that the quality of friendship which is negatively to the social withdrawal and interpersonal efficacy plays an intermediary role between friendship quality and social withdrawal.2.
