A Report On The Translation Of Investment Promotion Projects Of Zhongwei City

With deepening of economic globalization,all-round cooperation between China and Arab countries and implementation of "Belt and Road Initiative",Ningxia has more and more foreign projects.Translation of investment promotion texts plays an important role in attracting foreign investment,and economic development puts forward higher requirement on translation quality.This report is a case study of the C-E translation of Investment Promotion Projects of Zhongwei City under the guidance of Skopos theory.It is to give an introduction to the translation task and analyze the difficulties in translating investment promotion texts.The report is composed of four parts:introduction to the translation task,description of the translation process,case analysis and conclusion.Firstly,the author describes the translation task,including introduction to the source text and significance of the translation task.Then the translation process is described,including searching terminology and parallel texts,translation steps,problems encountered while translating and proofreading.The core of the report is the case analysis.In this part,the author describes some difficulties in translating at lexical level,syntactic level and textual level.Through analyzing source text and target text she discusses translation methods used in solving the difficulties under the guidance of Skopos theory.The last part is the conclusion,in which the author reflects on the translation practice,analyzing the importance of text analysis before translation and translator's competence,in the hope that the report could deepen understanding of translation practice and be helpful for such translation activities.
