In recent years, auto industry has become a leading industry in our national economy, which has exerted profound influence on economic growth. Foreign exchange is an essential part in the internationalization of Chinese auto industry. Annual Report on Automotive Industry in China, also known as Blue Book of Automotive Industry, is an annual research report on the development of China's auto industry. It is of great value to translate this report, as it can provide information to foreign investors and help make marketing strategies and investment decisions. On the basis of text classification and text analysis, the translator translates Chapter One of the report with the combination of text typology and communicative translation theory. There are three level difficulties in the process of translation, namely, phrases, sentences and semantics. Difficulties in phrases translation involve the rendering of long noun phrases, four-character phrases and terminologies; difficulties in sentences translation are the rendering of long subtitles, long sentences and sentences with no subjects; at semantic level, translation difficulties include semantic omission and semantic repetition. After analysis, the translator concludes the causes of translation difficulties and also presents related solutions. With related theories, the translator adopts various translation strategies to solve above-mentioned problems. First, using structural addition for lengthy noun phrases to make the meaning clear; semantic addition and free translation for four-character phrases;professional dictionaries and authoritative websites for the translation of terminologies.Second, applying nominalization for the translation of long subtitles; following or inverting the original order for long sentences; adding formal subject and using passive for sentences with no subject. Third, using semantic addition or omission for semantic problems. In addition, the translator makes a conclusion and recommendations for improvement.
