Study On The Semantic Field Of “Yanxun” In Ancient Chinese

The words “zun”,“xun”,“shuai”,“yuan”,“sui”,“yan”,“bang”,“xun” in ancient Chinese in the expression “according to a route” or “act according to a criterion”constitute a small semantic field,this article called “yanxun” semantic field.According to the theory of semantic field,adopts the survey statistics,description and interpretation combining,the combination of diachronic research methords,describes and analyzes the common features and semantic distinction of each member of the “yanxun”semantic field,as well as the differences of the times,described the alternations of each member of the semantic field,summarizes and shows the characteristics of the evolution,explains the reasons of the evolution.The entire article is composed of three chapters.Chapter one is an introduction that illustrates the research results of ancient Chinese semantic field,the present situation of the research on “yanxun” and the linguistic data and methods of research involved.Chapter two describes the common characteristics of each member of the semantic field,analyzes the differences of each member from the perspective of the source of meaning and the rules of evolvement,from the diachronic perspective to discuss the development of each member of the semantic field.The third chapter focus on the semantic field as a whole,describes the composition of the semantic field in different periods,summarize the evolution characteristics of the semantic field and probe into the causes of the evolution occuring.
