Compared with non-impoverished college student,impoverished college student may perceive more discrimination.Previous researches had found that discrimination can significantly positively predict aggression.After perceiving discriminated,people with different levels of self-esteem show different offensive.This study will explore the characteristics of the impoverished college students? perceived discrimination and its structure.After then,the study will further discuss the effect of perceived discrimination and self-esteem to one's aggression.In study 1,16 impoverished college students were sampled and interviewed.Results showed: the impoverished college Students can perceive discrimination from others,which including ant locution,avoidance and behavior discrimination.The anti-locution referred to verbal comments that betray antagonism,which included negative evaluative statement about impoverished college students.The avoidance referred to avoiding contact with the impoverished college students,which included.Avoiding physical contact and keep the impoverished college students,arm's length.Behavior discrimination referred to the denial of equal treatment to the impoverished college Students.In study 2,The Chinese Version of Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale(SES)and The Chinese Version of The Marlowe-Crowne Social Desirability(MCSD)were administrated to a sample of 565 impoverished college Students,from which 39 genuine high self-esteem,60 defensive high self-esteem and 60 low self-esteem students were chosen.And then,a video including three kinds of discrimination was made according the results of the study one.The 159 experiments were randomly divided into six groups with 2×3 two factors,perceived discrimination and self-esteem.Results showed: Impoverished Students have a moderate level of self-esteem;male' self-esteem scored significantly higher than female students,the self-esteem of junior students' scores significantly higher thanthe others.There were significant effects of the perceived discrimination and self-esteem on the power of the gun.There were significant differences among participants with different levels of self-esteem.The student with defensive high self-esteem chose the highest power under perceived discrimination condition,and there were no significant differences between the genuine high self-esteem and the low self-esteem participants.There were significant effects of the perceived discrimination and self-esteem on the member of the shot.There were significant differences among participants with different levels of self-esteem.The participants with genuine high self-esteem chose lest member of the shot under perceived discrimination condition,and there were no significant differences between the defensive high self-esteem and the low self-esteem participants.Conclusions:(1)The impoverished college students' self-esteem is significantly lower than the non-impoverished college students(2)Perceived discrimination is among widespread impoverished college student,which include ant-locution,avoidance and behavior discrimination.(3)The perceived discrimination of impoverished college student can significantly positively predict the aggression.(4)Perceived discrimination,impoverished college student with defensive high self-esteem behaved strongest aggression,and the genuine high self-esteem behaved weakest aggression.
