Vocabulary is the most fundamental link in language studying,vocabulary teaching is also a important part that has attracted much attention in Teaching Chinese as Second Language.The question “How to teach” is a hot topic in middle of many scholars.Relatively traditional methods for teaching vocabulary are: translation method,showing real physical and definition method.With in-depth extension of teaching practice in Teaching Chinese as Second Language,situation teaching method,context teaching method has been brought up.Vocabulary teaching method is improving more and more.Task-based Approach emphasize communication goal,it is widely applied in Teaching Chinese as Second Language.More and more teachers have put this teaching method into different class types.Through checking document literature about Task-based approach,combining characteristics of students and teaching materials in Kenya Chinese Academy,synthesizing vocabulary practices in class,This paper mainly introduces vocabulary activities in class under the task-based approach,and puts forward some personal suggestions on Chinese vocabulary teaching in Kenya,It is expected to provide some reference for vocabulary teaching.The paper is divided into five chapters: the first chapter expresses research background and purpose of this paper.The second chapter is literature review,includes TBLT and vocabulary teaching.The third chapter is the introduction for Chinese teaching situations in Kenya,include Kenya Chinese Academy.The fourth chapter is main one,brings up specific tasks in different vocabulary teaching stages,and put these tasks into teaching practice.The fifth chapter is review about whole paper,and conclude the lack of this paper.
