| The text is the latest report in media industry published by Oxford Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism,which made a brief introduction to the rise,development of online videos,and made an analysis on online news video production,distribution and monetization strategies of mainstream publication,digital companies and news institutions and discussed the future of online news video.In term of this industry research report,three features can be concluded: firstly,it is informative as it talks about the development of media industry based on a large number of data collecting from interviewees,thus several names of interviewees,news institutions and direct speeches are included in the report.Secondly,it is formal style as several long sentences are employed in the text to show formality of this research report.Thirdly,it is professional as this is a research report in news industry,thus there are many professional words and expressions to introduce new development of news industry,especially about online news video.In view of these facts,the author mainly discussed difficulties in translation practice,including translation of names of people,institutions and terminologies,besides the author made an analysis on the translation of long sentences by following original order,inverting sentence order and splitting long sentences into short ones.The author also concluded main trans-editing skills,such as adding supplementary information,keeping some summary statements and reorganizing text structure.The author hopes to provide some references for people to learn translation,trans-editing techniques of research report and make further study by exploring features of research report,main difficulties,the translation of long sentences and trans-editing skills. |
