This paper is a translation report on chapter two of Research on Structure of Higher Education Disciplines and specialties in Tibet.The source text is about the development history of higher education disciplines in Tibet,which is divided into three parts: the development of Tibetan traditional disciplines,traditional disciplinary education in Tibet under the temple system,and the illustration and evaluation of traditional disciplines in Tibet.The source text is an important reference for the studies of traditional Tibetan education.A lot of Tibetan culture loaded words and expressions as well as classical Chinese were presented in the source text,translating them benefits the popularization of Tibetan culture and the propagation of traditional Chinese culture.The domestic researches on Tibetan culture,especially on the Tibetan traditional education are relatively weak,and foreigners still have some misunderstandings of Tibetan education.Therefore,the translation version is planned to publish for English speakers in order to popularize Tibetan culture,giving more people the chance to learn about the charm of Tibet,so as to promote the regional development in Tibet.The translation report is written under the guidance of Newmark's translation theory,semantic translation and communicative translation.In addition,the computer-aided translation software Memo Q provided some supporting for the translation work.The translation report is composed of five parts: introduction,translation process,translation strategies,case studies and summary.It is hoped that the report can provide some suggestions for the translation work of Tibetan traditional culture,especially for translation work on traditional higher education in Tibet.
