This is an English-Chinese translation report on Chapter 13 to Chapter 15 of the book Third Culture Kids: Growing Up Among Worlds, written by David C.Pollock and Ruth E.Van Reken. The source text is mainly about building a strong foundation for TCKs,dealing with transition in the new location and meeting educational needs for TCKs.These three chapters can help readers get a better idea to maximize the benefits of TCKs,and also help parents who live outside their own culture to raise their kids wisely. The translation practice uses Peter Newmark's translation theory as guidance for choosing strategies. The main function and the style of the source text is informative.Newmark believes that for informative text, the method of communicative translation should mainly apply. Thus, the translator mainly followed the rules of communicative translation in this translation practice, and tried to focus more on the comprehension as well as response of receptors. The translation report consists of two parts.Part one includes the source text and the translated text.Part two is the translation report, which will mainly present the introduction to the original book, the introduction to the translation task, translation process, case analyses as well as the summary of unsolved problems and what the translator has learnt from the translation.
