Murals has been set up as an important art discipline in the virous art institutions. However, since the art discipline has been deeply effected by Western painting, how to abosorb the language of native artistic creation is still a task need to be discussed more. China has a long tradition of wall painting, from Lu Emmanuel Temple, the Western Han Dynasty Kirin Court, and the Tang Dynasty Lingyan court, to a large number of existent Buddhist murals of Dunhuang, and so on. In addition to the existing literature and a wealth of information on the ground, there is also more abundant information underground-the tomb murals. China has the traditionation of tomb murals since the Western Han Dynasty (Even Qin or early Qin Dynasty but the relevant information was not discovered). Till the Tang Dynasty, the content of tomb murals had involved in all aspects of social life, and its techniques have been increasingly sophisticated. Therefore, learning and creation can not be simply to carry on without consulting the rich materials, how to learn from traditional Chinese paintings, especially its language and technique had once been neglected and just been discovered in recent years is still an important issue. This paper will offcus on Tomb murals, especially bird images in the Tang Dynasty.In our general perception today, even in many research literatures, bird images in the Tang Dynasty are usually classified as painting of birds and flowers. Obviously, it is not proper to study old materials by the new way. Therefore, this article selected the bird images as the object of study, and observe them by putting them in the deciption and environment of tomb murals in Tang Dynasty.The title of this article is "research of bird Images in Tang Dynasty tomb murals". Based on the need of the considering of fine arts and the needs of art history study, the article analyzed animal images comprehensively and systematically. Besides, it was not only concerned about changes in artistic style, but also explore the reasons and the meanings of the changes of bird images in the Tang Dynasty tomb murals.Thus making up a significant loss of the study of Chinese art history, moreover, it aimed to seek more creative elements and art language for education and creation of murals.
