Dandan Oilik,which means ‘Ivory House' in Uygur language.In Tang Dynasty,The site is located in the center of the Taklimakan desert under the Jiexie town in the Khotan Kingdom which contains a lot of Houses,Buddhist temples,Orchards and Kilns,all of these constitute a group of ancient people.Because of the special geographical conditions,the site was covered up by sandstorm and preserved much well.Since modern times,with the capitalist countries foreign aggression.For example,the Britain and Russia were began to snatched Xinjiang in China,one of them was plundered the Xinjiang relics.So,the site was discovered by Sven Hedin in this time.After Sven Hedin,Aurel Stein,Tlinkler and other explorers in succession investigation and excavation for Dandan Oilik,both of them gained a large collection of ancient relics.As a result of the investigation and excavation by foreign explorers,which made a preliminary knowledge and comprehension at that time.However,which let to the national precious relics' s lost.After the founded of the People's Republic of China,the archaeological industry was refreshed and developed rapidly.In the late 1990 s,the Archaeological Research Institution of the Xinjiang excavated the site again.At the beginning of the new century,the Investigation Team for Dandan Oilik of China and Japan,which begin four times' systematic,scientific,investigation and excavation,and further understanding of the scope and nature of the site.In this study,using the method of Archaeology and Philology,through the analysis of the contents and function of the relics,which makes a preliminary discussion on the names and the ages of the ruins,through reviewing the development history of the Archaeology of Site,classifying relics unites and discusses the structure and function of the site.
