Terminology Management In Professional Translation

The author worked as a student translator at Guangzhou Lan-bridge Information Technology Co.,Ltd.(a branch of Lan-bridge Group Company in Guangzhou,hereinafter referred to as Lan-bridge)from July 17 th to early September.This report is based on the author's internship as a translator in the company.In a professional language services company,a complete translation task usually requires joint efforts of several translators.But this mode is likely to cause the inconsistency of terminology,which will degrade the quality of translated products.The author participated in several translation projects during the two-month internship at Lan-bridge,and utilized the terminology management during the translation.In this report,the author analyzed the process of terminology management with actual translation projects and illustrated how terminology management effectively helped improve quality.In the last part of report,the author summarized and shared her insight of terminology management gained from internship,in a view to help students who major in translation better understand terminology management and pay more attention to it.
