As a part of Chinese children's film,Xinjiang-themed children's film is a film type reflecting life,learning and growth of Xinjiang children in the multinational area and multicultural context,with Xinjiang culture as a background and children from various nations of Xinjiang as the main expression object.As for its creation subject,all of main creators,photographers and main actors come from Xinjiang.In its story narration,it records growth experience of children of various nations of Xinjiang,presents diversified culture from all nations of Xinjiang and reflects main cultural influential factors during values growth process of children of various nations of Xinjiang.The paper selects 10 film texts around the year of2000 and seeks messages delivered by different film texts in cultural features and other related aspects showed in music,sound,frame features,lens performance,image shaping and dialogues of characters,using methods of text analysis.It studies folk culture,regional characteristics and nationality differences embodied in these symbolic expressions,and“significance” possibly brought by these expressions to the audience,screens which part from these educational effects is worth being carried forward and which part may causes cultural misreading and negative emotion of the audience.As an art form of children's film,Xinjiang-themed children's film exerts an internal influence on the audience in cultivation of cognitive competence,value guidance,aesthetic judgment,national unity education and other related respects.Speaking of its theme,Xinjiang-themed children's film as a “children-type” language expression pursues sense of belonging,conversion of the mind,and a self-conscious coding scheme of kindness.Its firm defense for the homeland and traditional national culture obviously shows in its narrative structure.But as a “Xinjiang-type” narration,these films simultaneously present oneness of culture and strengthened expression of stereotyped image in terms of symbolic representation.Such a limited expression is apparently detrimental to development of Xinjiang-themed children's film.The study suggests that Xinjiang-themed children's film tends to be simplified in cultural expression and image building and is unable to comprehensively and truthfully reflect current status of Xinjiang.To put too much emphasis on educational functions of children's film cannot fully mobilize children's film-watching interest and this problem appears a strengthening trend.It suggests to construct Xinjiang-themed children's film with a bothway focus between Xinjiang and children,build multi-cultural prospect in top-level design,transform cultural thinking and strengthen cultural sharing in production,and more flexibly express varied “children” and “Xinjiang” in language used in the films.
