As a kind of special cultural system of certain area,which was gradually formed after long-term accumulation of history,regional culture symbol combines the cultural characteristics with the spiritual connotation of different regions.Tourist souvenir is an industry with high additional value of tourism.At present,the lack of local characteristics in the design of tourist souvenir is a ubiquitous problem.How to make the regional culture symbolic and fully apply it to the design of tourist souvenirs,has become the important problem in present tourism souvenir designers' continuous exploration course.Purpose.In order to promote the quality of the tourist souvenirs,the combination of regional culture characteristics with tourist souvenirs in the process of studying the development and application of the tourist souvenirs should be the target.Method.Based on the theory related to the linguistic semiotics,I specifically elucidate the cultural expression of the regional cultural symbol in the design of tourist souvenirs,by studying the formation element of regional culture?syntactic choreography?conversion and information transmission.I set up the formation and transmitting mechanism of regional culture connotation in the design of tourist souvenirs step by step.Results.I promote a new design method which fuses the regional culture symbols with tourist souvenirs-"Fusing the Idea with the Shape Method".At last,I take Tang West Market and China Bronze Ware Museum?s tourist culture souvenirs design as an example,and use the " Fusing the Idea with the Shape Method " for the creative design of the tourist souvenirs to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the method.Conclusion.I provide a new method and a train of thought for the application of regional culture in the design of the tourist souvenirs.
