Simultaneous Interpreting is a frequently used form of interpreting in important occasions such as international conferences. To guarantee the outcome and accuracy of the interpretation,in many cases, interpreters would get access to the scripts of the speeches in advance and therefore get better prepared. However, with sufficient preparation, doing simultaneous interpreting with text during a conference turns out to be not always satisfying because the interpreter is distracted rather than aided by the script. Therefore, this paper will set off from the personal interpreting experience of the author, and then provide analysis toward the experience with the guidance of Gile's Effort Model. After that, based on the analysis, controlled experiments are conducted to testify their validity.Through these processes,an optimized coping strategy will be put forward for interpreters as a reference for both their preparation and performance. |
