An English-Chinese Translation Practice Report On Exercise Psychology (Chapter 5)

The translation practice report is based on the translation of the excerpts of Exercise Psychology(Chapter 5),and the translation form is from English to Chinese.This report consists of five parts: Task Description,Process Description,Preparations for Translation,Case Analyses,and Conclusion..The first chapter gives a brief introduction to the source,contents,objectives and significance of the task.The second chapter introduces the whole process of the translation practice,including the preparation for translation,translating and revision.The third chapter introduces the preparation for the translation,including the preparation of translation tools,the understanding of relevant psychological knowledge and reading and analyses of relevant parallel texts.The fourth chapter is the core of this practice report,which analyzes the cases from the translation of names,technical terms,words and sentences based on the skopos rule and coherence rule of skopos theory.Case analyses utilize a number of translation skills,including the selection of word meaning,amplification,conversion,division of sentences and the translation of passive sentences.The fifth chapter is practice conclusion,which focuses on the difficulties in the translation process and sums up the experience from the translation.All of these not only could provide practical experience for the translator in later psychological translation activities and lay a foundation for the future translation career but also hopefully contribute to similar translation.
