A Practice Report On CSD: A Multi-user Similarity Metric For Community Recommendation In Online Social Networks

The report comes from one translation practice on a paper CSD: A muti-user Similarity Metric for Community Recommendation in Online Social Networks.The language in the source text is English and the language in the target text is Chinese.There are five chapters in the report.Chapter one is task description.In this section,the report introduces the source of the task,the contents of the source text,the requirements of the target text and the purpose of the practice.Chapter two is process description.The report makes a detailed description of the task from four aspects: task acceptance,task preparation,translation practice and translation correction.Chapter three is pre-translation preparation.In this section,the report describes the preparation before translation which includes three parts:analyzing the source text,searching for the parallel text and searching for the basic information.Chapter four is case analyses,which is the most important part of the whole text.In this section,guided by the functional equivalence theory,the translator uses translation methods,conversion and concrete translation to analyze translation of words.And then,the translator combines the theory with the practice to analyze translation of long sentences with the translation methods,addition,omission and division.Meanwhile,in this section,the report classifies long sentences in the source text into three types and then analyzes the translation of each type of long sentences.In chapter five,the report draws a conclusion on this practice and points out that has to be improved in the future.
