Interpretive theory holds that interpreting is not a one-way track from the source language to the target language,but a dynamic process of comprehension and re-expression of the message included.The essence of the theory is that interpreters need to convey and express the sense rather than the language forms,thus it requires the interpreters to get a clear idea of the contents of the speaker and the purpose of their communication.In this sense,the interpretive theory has exerted a positive enlightenment on interpreting,translation of the practical writing and the translation teaching.Most student interpreters tend to come across various difficulties in listening,comprehending and expressing process in interpreting as a result of the immediacy and complexity of interpreting tasks.The deficiency in language competence,interpreting skills and interpreting experience are the other factors leading to unsatisfied performance of student interpreters.Therefore,it is necessary to make a summary or reflections on their interpreting performance with the guidance of relevant interpreting theories.This practice report,consequently,is to make a detailed analysis of the author's interpreting practice under the instructions of interpretive theory.The author participated in the Ghana customs management seminars hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of P.R.C and organized by Hunan International Business Vocational College in June,2016.This is a practice report based on the author's experience as the class interpreter.The difficulties in interpreting are categorized by recalling and analysis,which are summarized as the inadequate preparations for the terms,unqualified information recalling,the lack of the cyclopedia knowledge and imbalanced psychological state.With the guidance of the the interpretive theory,the author analyzed the reasons for her difficulties in interpreting and put forward relevant coping strategies,including adequate preparations,accumulation of encyclopedia knowledge,practicing short-term memory skills and developing good psychological state.With the guidance of interpretive theory,this practice report analyzes the difficulties in the author's interlpreting process and puts forward some coping strategies,with the purpose of improving the interpreting quality of her own,and exerting some positive influence on interpreting learning and practice.
