With the deepening of globalization,it is becoming more and more frequent for China tointegrate itself into the world. Therefore,Interpreting plays an unshakable role.Annual Summer Davos Forum is an important platform for the world to know better of China.High quality of interpreting not only portrays the positive image of China but also shows China's important role on the international stage. The speeches delivered by Chinese Primers enjoy their unique features in language and content: formal genre, technical terminologies, complex structures, figures, and culture-loaded expressions.Successful interpreting lies in the prompt and accurate convey of the source language. This paper aims at answering the three questions. What difficulties may the novices encounter during the interpreting of Summer Davos Forum orations? What are the exact differences between novices and veterans in the whole process? Third, what skills and strategies can novices learn from veterans in field interpreting? This paper applies questionnaires and data analysis. The researcher initially recorded the class performance by52 English majors. Then, the recording was transcribed. With the guidance of the Interpretive Theory, the data was analyzed. It has been found that novices have problems in lexicon and syntax, structural logic,culture-loaded words, etc. They are frequently confined by language shells.Besides, they lack the accumulation of technical terminologies and the ability to deal with figures. To tackle these problems and difficulties, this thesis suggests some tactics to help the novices to do better jobs in their future field interpreting: literal interpreting, free interpreting, attaching logical conjunctions, omissions, using initials, syntactical transformation.
