Translation Practice Report On Mixing Of Concrete,Transportation And Labor Subcontract

With the deepening of reform and opening,China gradually develops itself into international cooperation and international division of labor,which makes Chinese-English translation increasingly prominent.The translation practice project,Mixing of Concrete,Transportation and Labor Subcontract,is entrusted to the author by CCCC Third Highway Engineering Co.,Ltd.As the two sides? interests and responsibility are involved,the contract translation needs to be rigorous,formal and logic,thus it requires high degree of accuracy and standardization.Under the guidance of functional equivalence theory,in accordance with lexical equivalence,syntactic equivalence and discourse equivalence,this contract is translated with translation strategies such as amplification and conversion and is analyzed in lexical,syntactic and discourse level.Based on the theory of functional equivalence,we can further understand the characteristics and functions of contract text,deepen the understanding of bilingual languages and improve the ability of translation.This practice report analyzes translation methods used in contract translation from the perspective of functional equivalence theory,aiming to highlight the guiding significance of functional equivalence theory in the translation of contract texts and hoping that this paper can provide reference for non-literary translators.This translation practice report includes four chapters.The first chapter makes a brief description of translation tasks,including translation background and significance of translation project.The second chapter describes translation process,including the characteristics of contract text,text translation and revision.The third chapter is the analysis of translation cases,and translation problems are solved in lexical,syntactic and discourse level from the perspective of functional equivalence theory.The forth chapter summarizes the translation practices,including translation difficulties and experiences.The author has a further understanding of the translation of contract text through translation practice report,and translation techniques are analyzed and summarized in translation cases,which provides references for the future translation field practice.
