| Compared with Indo-European languages,Chinese language formal changes in strict meaning,so it needs more grammatical means such as function words and word order to express syntactic relations and grammatical meanings.Chinese adverbs usually provide the extent,scope,time,frequency,tone,negation,modality,relevance,etc.Some adverbs are related to the changes of the time,aspect,state,person,etc.In fact,it provides the necessarily lexical forms for these morphologic expressions.Synonymous adverbs,like other synonyms,provide the possibility for the refinement of language.However subtle differences of the expressions of synonyms often bring barriers for learners in selecting encoding when they are using language.Naturally,it has become the focus of language teaching and researching.In modern Chinese language,‘zài’,‘yòu’,‘hái’,are all frequency adverbs,which belong to adverbs of time.They have clear divisions of labor in meaning and obvious differences in usage.However,on account that they all have the meaning of repetition,in the period of synchronic expression and diachronic development of Chinese,there are no clear division of labor between them when they are used in grammatical categories such as time,quantity and mood.If it is thus with native speakers,it is normal for second language learners if they misuse,omit or make errors in learning these three words.Due to the high usage rate of these three synonyms,and in the process of acquisition and teaching,pragmatic choice of these three synonymous adverbs is an inevitable teaching problem.This group of synonymous adverbs was chosen as the researching object of this study,and errors of these three words in BBC corpus as research scope.We made quantitative analysis,for purpose of finding reasons of errors,giving corresponding corrective measures,puttingforward relevant teaching strategies,and then provide reference for the teaching and research of similar grammatical phenomena.From the aspects of syntax,semanteme and pragmatics,this study finds the similarities and differences of these three words.On the basis of predecessors research,this study describes in details about the syntactic distribution,semantics collocation and restraining factors of pragmatic expression of this group of synonyms.652 errors in using ‘zài’ ‘yòu’ and ‘hái’,which are sorted out from BCC corpus,are categorized as misusing,disordering,omission and redundancy.This study analyzed them and found that reasons of these errors are mainly in the aspects of the influence of the negative transferring of native language,generalization of the rule of target language,choice of strategy of teaching and compilation of Foreign Student–targeted Chinese Textbooks,ect.Afterwards,this study provides specific teaching strategies for teachers,learning strategies for learners,and suggestions for authors. |
