This paper aims to study the balance of interpreter's self-energy in court simultaneous interpretation based on the author's Simultaneous Interpretation(SI)of the American Supreme Court's trial of same-sex people by the analysis of the court SI process, and in combination with the Effort Model developed by the French professor Gile Daniel to illustrate and understand the language with the help of cognitive information and the topic. This thesis will first introduce the origin of the assignment, with specific information of the task,Effort Model, anticipation and EVS applied in the interpretation;then list the challenges into three categories including background information, flow of speech and complex sentences;and example analysis on the application of anticipation and EVS in interpretation afterwards, finally draw a conclusion. On the basis of the simultaneous interpretation practice of the trial, this paper is to prove that apply proper principle like syntactic linearity and strategies like anticipation or EVS(Ear Voice Span)will be of great help in balancing the limited energy of the interpreter and help him finish the SI successfully. It is of great importance for our better understanding on the SI process based on the Effort Model, and finding out scientific and systematic strategies so as to improve the SI capability.
