The Difficulities And Translation Strategies Of Interview Transcripts

Compared with written texts,interview transcripts are a kind of colloquial texts that are relatively low-register and highly random.Looking at the existing research texts,I find that there is relatively little research into the English translation of spoken texts.Taking an interview recording project on intergenerational equity from a certain university as an example,this paper discusses the colloquial features of oral interviews and the difficulties of their Chinese to English translation.By analyzing specific cases,this paper studies and provides translation strategies and solutions on the level of logic and language,which,hopefully will fill some gaps in the Chinese-English translation of spoken language texts and provide inspiration for English learners and Chinese-English translators.
