A Report On The Translation Of "2016 Annual Report Of Qujiang Cultural Tourism"

An annual report is a comprehensive report on the activities of a company throughout the preceding year or financial year,including a general introduction,the state of the operation,the board numbers,assets and liabilities,cash flows and other performance of the company.Annual reports,as the vital media,are intended to provide information for the shareholders and other interested people to know the activities,financial performance and trend of the company.With the increasing of China's national strength and the increasing degree of internationalization,many Chinese enterprises have begun to invest overseas or attract overseas investment.In order to get more investors to know the state of their business,the accurate translation of the annual reports is increasingly important.An annual report is of non-literary text,or rather,business text.It covers a wide range of topics,including finance,science and technology,statistics and other professional information.The languages of an annual report are close in structure,accurate in semantics,strict in expression and strong in logic.Therefore,the translation of an annual report should emphasize the authenticity of information and the validity of information transmission.This report is based on the translation practice and corpus construction of the 2016 Annual Report of Qujiang Cultural Industry Investment(Group)Co.Lt.,which is referred to as QJWL(Qujiang Cultural Tourism)in this project report.After a review of the literature relating to the theories and practices of the translation of annual reports,the report introduces the pre-translation preparation,including the analyses of the terminology and text features;then it focuses on problem-solving in the translation,with analysis and classification of the problems encountered in the translation process and solutions lexical and syntactic levels from the perspective of Scopos theory.It is expected that this report will provide references for the translation of annual reports and the corpus constructed(termbase and Sentence Alignments)can be of some help in the MTI education of Xian Shiyou University.
