The adverb “dou” is one of the very important points in Modern Chinese,which is often used both in daily language and written language.Because “dou” has complicated meanings and usages in different situations,foreign students often make many mistakes during the learning process.Therefore,“dou” is one of the most important and difficult points in second language acquisition.Based on the questionnaire method,this paper researches the acquisition order and process of“dou” of the Chinese major students in Maroua University(one teaching school of the YAO Confucius Institute in Cameroon),and they are all in intermediate level.In addition,this paper analyzes their errors and makes the suggestion for the teaching.Five chapters are included:The first chapter introduces the reason why I choose the topic,the research purpose,research methods and some related research about “dou” both in Chinese ontology research and teaching Chinese as a second language.The second chapter is the designment of the questionnaire.It includes the objective,content,respondents,method of this survey.Also,the language data,question types and the question distribution.The third chapter tried to demonstrate the result of this questionnaire and analyse the reasons why it happens.It will show the eight acquisition orders and process of“dou” of the intermediate students in Maroua University.The fourth chapter is the suggestion for the students and the teaching according to the chapter three.It hopes to help the students to improve their language level in terms of the grammar point “dou”.The last chapter is the conclusion.It will show the acquisition orders and process of “dou” of the intermediate students in Maroua University.On one hand,this chapter demonstrates the reasons why students made such errors and makes the related suggestions.In the other hand,it also points out the shortage of this paper,hope it will make small contribution to the follow-up researches.
