There is a variety of adverbs, and the usages are complex, which have beenimportant and difficult points in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. There arecountless experts and scholars who study on adverbs, among which,“dou” is one ofthe most important adverbs in modern Chinese as well as a adverb with highfrequency of application. Most of prior researches focus on the study of its ontology,however, these studies cannot meet the needs of it with the further development ofteaching Chinese as a foreign language. In order to make foreign students understandand grasp “dou” as soon as possible and to improve the quality and efficiency ofChinese teaching, we make a full investigation on “dou” by the means ofquestionnaire. Based on the setting of grammar points in the teaching material andtextbook, including the text and practice and combined with the research of itsontology, the paper summarizes eight kinds of common sentence patterns related to“dou” as the research object. This paper mainly studies acquisition order andacquisition process of eight sentences for Japanese students, analyzes errors which aremade in the process of Japanese students learning “dou” and proposes suggestionsand design in teaching. This paper aims at making the Chinese teacher have a definiteobject in view in teaching Chinese as a foreign language as well as making Japanesestudents have systematic and comprehensive understanding for acquisition of “dou”and hopes to have certain inspiration and reference value for teaching Chinese as aforeign language and even to formulate teaching materials.
